How Agility Changed My Dog...
When Peanut trots out to the Agility field, any and all spectators fall in love with him. After all, you don’t see a lot of 6 ½ pound Dachshunds scrambling over an A-frame! The sight of him popping over an 8" jump just naturally wins over a crowd. But less than a year ago his behavior at home wasn’t winning points. When he started snapping at me, I knew I had lost any and all control and I called LMCCB for help.
To my surprise, one of the programs suggested to shape Peanut’s behavior was an Agility class. To my delight, Agility gave Peanut a purpose! As Peanut learned to conquer each obstacle, he became a confident and happy dog…and the whole time, we are having a BLAST! Peanut and I just completed the Advanced Agility Class and we are both looking forward to entering competition. ~ D. Vogel
